Hurdy is a devel computer running placed on Hackafou, the Calafou's hacklab. It's a project that aims GNU, BSD, UNIX technologies, as real computer experience providers and try to find an easy way to usability. It was first time run in a 'sobremesa' box, was a very stable GNU/Hurd system that crashed trying to update.

After this a DragonFlyBSD [lack version] was installed. It share his plugin' time with and USBLive Gentoo system on two USBs. In this time the Dragonfly hard disk was the guardian and the license legacy rest untouched, cos the box, became a Gentoo testing box, working hard with spectacular results on video, where has been detected slowmotion features. Hurdy it's a collective work of some computers lans. They make an UNIX clone operative system with a BSD License. All showed with GNU/Linux machines and boxes (rabn, nannn, xyzaa, debby, sputn1k, s4lyut, m00c, voyag3ur, arian3, kmelia and many more).


If we look for the AI Koans [1] then we can read this amazing case:

     A novice was trying to fix a broken Lisp machine by turning the power off and on. 
     Knight, seeing what the student was doing spoke sternly: "You can not fix a machine 
     by just power-cycling it with no understanding of what is going wrong." 
     Knight turned the machine off and on. The machine worked.

The meaning of this koan is as obvious as of deep and radical consequences. A machine works, at least a Lisp Machine, when we understand the reason of it. In other words, it only do what we can understand that it will do. How it's possible is a great mistery, cos it suppose a strange interaction between humans and machines all inside the mind.

The big question can't be another than Is the teaching of this koan true? A positive answer to this question move us to a situation where we'll have to feel that all ours computer interactions are the only goal to fix a non understood question, topic or program. A negative answer will leave us in a communication breakdown between humans and computers.

To demonstrate this we need a fully understood system. A system like that would became an absolutely hardware free system. Is this a foolish thing or not? Is it possible?

The 50s cognitive psychology argues that mind works as a computer. In the way that we walk we go beyond this and the computer understanding become an approach and a tool (maybe between others) to create the mind itself. This creation only have sense inside a quality live improving. A similar approach using hardware beneath software we can find it on, people use to call ontological machines.

When we awake in everyday life, we live around computers, can we shutdown them without lose their features? Maybe learning how they work? Hurdy Project explores this way looking for a system selfexplained as a second milestone to reach a hardware free system.

            The main reason is to complain with Espirulina Hurdy project requeriments.
            the 'sobremesa' box high vibration level could disturb spirulina development:
            [NON DEMOSTRATED HYPOTESIS] Really, the vibration is good for spirulina development but not in its darker hours.
            (ever in case of long time running near the spirulina 'pecera' it would be verosimil)
